  • Is the Burton D. Morgan FME Internship paid or unpaid?
    The Burton Dr. Morgan Future Medtech Entrepreneur Internship is a highly competitive program that provides a $3,000 stipend for the experience. Selected interns will be receive payment every two weeks throughout the program.
  • Is attendance mandatory?
    Yes, we expect all selected interns will be present and prepared for each session. However, we understand that life can present a number of challenges and hardships. If you know in advance of a conflict with your schedule, please reach out to us before applying to see if we can accomodate the absence.
  • What is the selection criteria?
    We are looking for students who are passionate about how innovation can improve healthcare and how they can be future leaders in bringing new healthcare innovations to the market. The application essay questions are used to screen prospective students interest and passion. We do not expect students to have any previous entrepreneurship or business experience prior to joining the program.
  • Will I need to start a company at the end of the program?
    No - the program is meant to provide you with the foundational understandings needed to be a successful entrepreneur in the life sciences after you have developed some professional experience in your clinical, business, or legal fields. We want to plant the seeds that can develop you into future leaders of innovation later in your careers.
  • Is the final pitch day experience an individual or group project?
    The final pitch can be a done with a partner or individually based on your preference.
  • Is this a full-time job over the summer?
    Past students have found the experience to be very comprehensive but were able to manage additional internships or summer school classes. We are supportive of your other commitments. We just ask that you be present and prepared for each of the key dates of the program.
